Leadership

The people behind BTSF

BTSF was founded by three siblings — born in Singapore, students of Mandarin since pre-school, and residents of Johns Creek, Georgia since 2022 — and is governed by a Board of Directors. Every founder and director serves as an unpaid volunteer.

Founder and co-founders

Ayan Ganguly

Founder & Honorary Youth President

Ayan founded BTSF and serves as its Honorary Youth President. A high-school senior, he coaches and mentors players with disabilities as a volunteer with the TOPSoccer program at Atlanta Fire United and has interned in sports technology and youth football development in Beijing, Paris, South Korea and elsewhere in East Asia. At school he leads the Future Business Leaders of America chapter, is vice president of the National Chinese Honor Society and founded PolitiPrep, a civic-dialogue club.

Deven Ganguly

Co-Founder & Honorary Youth Vice President

Deven is a co-founder of BTSF and an Honorary Youth Vice President. A high-school sophomore, he coaches as a volunteer with the TOPSoccer program at Atlanta Fire United alongside Ayan and has interned with a national football association in East Asia, on site in South Korea and elsewhere in the region and remotely since. At school he co-chairs the FBLA chapter's community-service committee, is outreach officer of the National Chinese Honor Society and takes part in PolitiPrep and Student Leadership North.

Uma Ganguly

Co-Founder & Honorary Youth Vice President

Uma is a co-founder of BTSF and an Honorary Youth Vice President. A high-school freshman, she works on the Foundation's youth outreach and communications, including its multilingual materials, and brings the perspective of younger players and of girls to its programs. At school she is a member of FBLA, the Chinese Students Association, PolitiPrep and HOSA, and continues her Mandarin studies.

Board of Directors

Samrat Ganguly

Chairman of the Board

Samrat chairs BTSF's Board of Directors and is responsible for the Foundation's governance, finances and compliance. He is the father of BTSF's founders and serves without compensation.

Sheau-Shiun (Chris) Wang

Director

Chris is a Director of BTSF. A football administrator and sports-technology executive based in East Asia, he has held senior roles in national and regional football governance and in performance analytics, and brings deep relationships in football development across the region to the Foundation's international work.

Elizabeth Seltenrich

Director

Elizabeth competed on the Duke University women's golf team as an undergraduate and brings first-hand experience of women's collegiate sport to BTSF's work on access for girls and women, including through mentorship. She also serves on the board of directors of another nonprofit organization.

Founders and directors are not compensated, and BTSF's policies prohibit any payment or benefit to a director, officer, founder or family member. The founders' volunteer coaching, internships and school activities are independent of the Foundation and are not funded or arranged by it.

Advisors and youth council

BTSF is building a youth council and an advisory group of coaches, educators, disability-sport specialists and administrators. If you would like to be part of it, write to us.
